Kaponga Demonstration
Cake baskets made from raffia and flax formed the subject of a demonstration given by Airs Al’organ and Aliss Parker (Alangatoki) at the monthly meeting of the Kaponga. Institute last week. There was a fair attendance and the president (Airs R. D. Dagg) occupied the chair. A. competition for melon jam was won by Airs E. J. AVebby with Aliss AVeymss second. It was announced that the competition points for the year had been won by Airs J. Gibson with Airs Alan Betts second.
Arrangements were made to provide afternoon tea to returned 1 soldiers after the service on Anzac Day. It was also decided to go into the question of sending a delegate to the institute conference at Auckland. Hostesses for the afternoon were Mesdames AVebby, Gibson and Bennie.
