Whareroa Meeting
At the monthly meeting of the Whareroa Women’s Institutes there was a large attendance and Airs S. Larcom presided. The motto chosen for the year and presented by Airs Johnston was “Unity is Strength.” It was decided to form a drama circle among the younger members of the institute and arrangements were made to hold a. flag “500” evening at an early date.
The competition for the afternoon was Scottish songs and the following were the winners, Airs Shirtcliffe first, Mesdnmes Lning, Christie, Irvine, Stewart and Aliss Hicks second and Aliss Paterson third. A demonstration on beaten brass was given by Airs J. C*. Robb (Hawera) and an exchange stall was in charge of Airs Pope. Afternoon tea. was served by the hostesses, ATesdames Johnston, Irvine, Aliss S. Johnston.
