Walnut Cream Squares
Six ounces butter, one egg, one teacup sugar, two large cups flour, two teaspoons baking powder, half cup water. Cream butter and sugar, egg, and add dry ingredients and water. Mix to a stiff paste and roll out fairly thin. Put in a large flat tin and cook about twenty-five minutes in a moderate oven. Dissolve one dessertspoon of gelatine in quarter cup of cold water, then add two large tablespoons boiling water, one large cup sugar and remove from fire and cool. AVhen cold whip until stiff, add a little vanilla and pour over biscuit, when quite set, spread with chocolate icing and sprinkle over chopped walnuts cut in squares.
