IMPORTANCE TO DOMINIONS. JAPANESE CLAIMS TO NAVAL EQUALITY. (United Press Association—By 1 Electric Telegraph Copyright). LONDON, April 22. Japanese equality in naval strength with the British Empire and the United States is a matter of supreme importance to Australia and New Zealand and their other possessions iii the Pacific, as their defence can only be achieved by sea power, says the “Morning Post.’^ A programme of meetings with the Dominion Prime Ministers fwill be drawn up directly Sir John Simon, British Foreign Secretary returns. The unsettled state of Europe must dictate a ’ concentration of the greater portion of the British fleet in European waters, so that fewer ships will be available for the vital lines of sea communication.
