PARADES AT NEW YORK
RICH AND THE WORKLESS. SEVERAL PROTEST GATHERINGS. (United Press Association—By Electric Telegraph Copyright). NEW YORK, April 21. With a bright sun shining, New York’s socially prominent people held the traditional Easter parade in Fifth Avenue to-day. Long lines formed in front of fashionable churches awaiting the opportunity to worship at the numerous Easter services.
While the rich were displaying the season’s latest style creations numerous malcontents took the opportunity to protest against their condition. Several “protest parades” were held in Fifth Avenue, including one by a group of striking seamen. The leaders of one protest parade of unemployed ivere arrested and charged with disorderly conduct.
