Britain, France and Italy Make Representations to Lithuania NAZIS’ ORDERS FROM BERLIN EARLY REMEDY WANTED

The "Observer’s” diplomatic correspondent says that the British, French and Italian Governments, as guarantors of the iMemel Statute, have, represented to Lithuania that the existing situation was incompatible with the statute and should be remedied without delay. The Powers recognise difficulties due to German propaganda, resulting in Nazis taking orders from Berlin. Nevertheless, they point out that the directorate at present does not hold the chamber’s confidence as it should under the statute.
