FIVE*YEAR=OLD BOY KILLED TWO ACCIDENTS AT DUNEDIN CAR DRIVER ARRESTED

An accident which resulted in the death of a five-year-old boy, Arnold Healey, who lived with his parents at 23 Shortland Street, Caversham, occurred on Saturday afternoon at the corner of Marion and David Streets. A motor lorry, a% r oiding a collision with a motor car, swerved on to the footpath and struck the hoy, who was taken to hospital at 4.40 p.m. suffering from extensive injuries to liis head and body, from which he succumbed at 2.30 this morning. A collision between a motor car and a cycle, in which Ronald .Erridge, aged 13|,j received serious head injuries occurred at the junction of the Octagon and Lower Stuart Street at 5.30 p.m. on Saturday. The car which was driven by Edward Richard Quin, struck the boy and carried him across the road, where he was jammed against a stationary motor cycle. He was taken to hospital in a precarious condition, and to-day showed no improvement. The driver of the car was arrested.
