Post Wedding Parties

Home of Duchess of Kent From Our Own Correspondent. (Bv Air Mail). LONDON, Alarch 30. Number 3, Beigrave Square, London, is almost ready for the house-warming parties to be given by the Duke and Duchess of Kent.

They arrive back from their, honeymoon on April 14, and immediately after Easter, which they will spend with the King and Queen at Windsor, they will give a series of family parties. The King and Queen will attend at least one of them.

The great problem of what to do with their thousands of wedding presents has been settled temporarily. Presents that are going to be used in No. 3 have been transferred there, fhe rest are to remain at York House, the Duke’s home of bachelor days. The house is now a complete picture, its lovely centre being the Duchess’ apartments, running aong the front of the second floor. The Duchess’ bathroom is in black and silver. It is the most handsome of seven bathrooms. The bath is set in a silver alcove, ancl on the walls above it is painted a silver fountain against a black background. It gives the illusion of spraying into the hath. The curtains are waterproofed silver. A small ante-room with a glass floor, lit from underneath by concealed lights, leads to the Duke’s apartments. lis bedroom is decorated in “Georgian blue” (a cross between blue and green). The Duchess’ boudoir, at the back of the ground floor, has a. small balcony, which looks out on a garden. The walls have been made of striped pine and lined with book-cases. Damask curtains match the wood.
