Kakaramea Meeting
The monthly meeting of "the Ivakaramea Women’s Institute was held on Wednesday, when the president (Mrs Ramsbottom) presided and there was a good attendance. On the motion ot Miss Fowler seconded by Miss R. M.eharry, Miss M. Hardaker \vas enrolled a new member. As a mark of respect to the memory of the late Mr F. Anthony members sood’in silence. A letter of thanks was read from Mrs Anthony for the wreath sent her m her recent bereavement. Mrs Baker and Mrs Illingworth were appointed ' Federation delegates and Mrs Morris and Mrs Ramsbotton were elected advisory trustees.
A points prize for the year was won by Mrs Illingworth, with Mrs Hardaker and Mrs Hodge equal second. The competition for the afternoon was won by Miss S. Dwyer with Mrs C Hamblyn second and Mrs Hardaker third. A play was read by members of the drama circle as follows: Cook, Miss R. Presland; Ada, Miss M. Hamlin; Emily, Miss I- McDonald. Mass Betty Thompson was the w inner ot a wooden dog competition. Mr J. McKee, automobile association service officer, gave a very interesting talk and was accorded a vote of thanks. , Afternoon tea was served by the hostesses. Airs Presland, Miss A. Fowler, Miss L. Bonrke.
