Miss S. Carncross was hostess at bridge last week. Airs R. M. Gibb, who has been on a holiday in A\ estport, retuined last week. Air and Airs George Bourke will leave Eltham this week for the AVairapara district, where they will in future reside. Lady Carncross was hostess at a very pleasant afternoon for Airs Guy Cooper. , , Airs A. Tiplady was hostess at bridge on Friday evening.. Airs Austin, of Kaipoi, is the guest of her sister, Airs Envoy Jenkins. Aliss D. Gower left to-day oil a holiday visit to New Plymouth. Aliss K. Neil sen was a visitor to AVahganui during last week. Air J. E. Speight is spending a few days in AVanganui. Airs Geo. Major, of Stratford, was a visitor to Eltham during the weekend. Aliss A. -Morton is spending a holiday in New Plymouth.' Mrs A. E. Lethbridge is visiting Taupo and AVairakei. Next Thursday afternoon the Eltham Aletliodist Church will hold a garden party at Taumata. Park and biter, in the evening, a concert will be held in the AVesley Hall.

Old Pupils’ Dance

A very successful dance was held in All Saints Hall under the auspices of the Stratford Old Pupils’ Association (Eltham branch). There was a large number present, including visitors from Stratford and Hawera. Aiusiu for the dance was supplied by Airs Attrill and extras were played by Air W. AVare and Air AY. Peebles. A novelty dance, a Dutch Alonte Carlo, was won by Aliss N. Fake and Air S. Cross.

Supper was supplied by the ladies of the committee.
