COLLISION AT KAPONGA

MOTOR CYCLE AND CAR.

ROTH VEHICLES DAMAGED

A collision occurred on the upper Manaia road about 11 o’clock on Monday morning between a sedan motorcar, driven by J. S. Tosland, Pihama, and a motor-cycle ridden by P. F. A. Stevens. Stevens, who is employed by Mr. C. E. Matthews, Manaia Read, was coming out of Mr. Matthews’ gateway when the collision occurred. AJr. Tosland, who had two lady passengers and was proceeding towards Dawson Falls, "swerved to the right, his ear finishing up in the ditch and doing sonic damage to the front axle. ■Stevens received abrasions to liis chest and face and a nasty cut on the log. He was attended to by Dr. Gray and removed to the Kaponga Hospital. Air. Tosland and his passengers escaped unhurt. Stevens was later able to be removed to the home of bis employer, but it will be some little time before he is able to resume Work.
