SELECTED FOR POLICE GUARD
DUKE OF GLOUCESTER’S TOUR
HAWERA CONSTABLE CHOSEN
Notification has been received in Hawera of the selection of Constable W. R. Thomasen as a member of the police guard which will, accompany the Duke of Gloucester on his Dominion tour commencing on December 15. Only one other Taranaki constable, Constable A. G, Quin (New Plymouth), son of Mr and Mrs W. A. Quin, of Hawera, has been selected for the tour. Constable Thomasen has had previous experience of Royal tours, having acted as a member of the police guard to the Duke and Duchess of York on the occasion of their visit to New Zealand.
