ELTHAM ACTIVITIES
CROQUET CLUB EVENING. The Eltham Ladies’ Croquet Cfiub held another very successful flag 500 evening on Tuesday. A large number of players were present and the funds of the club will benefit to a considerable amount. The prize winners were a.s follows: Mr and Mrs A. R. Gower andi Mr and Mrs J. Bates. Consolation prizes were won by Mesdames De Launey, Darling, Sheehy and Prentice, and a travelling prize went to Mr W. M. Peacock: The Ngaere Hall was filled to the doors last evening when the Eltham Troop of the Legion of Frontiersmen held a dance. Visitors from Eltham and Stratford and surrounding districts were in evidence, it being the largest attended dance yet held. The music for the dance was played by Vinsen’s Orchestra. The supper arrangements, in charge of Mesdames Murray and Gyde, were all that couh. 'bo desired and credit is due to thoi. for the able manner in which they handled so large a gathering. A Monte Carlo was won by Mrs F. Fouhey and Mr Wilson. Extras were played by Mrs Attrill and Mrs Presticlge. Mr C. Gibb, who has been spending his vacation with his parents, Mr anMrs W. T. Gibb, Eltham, returnee to Wellington this morning.
