MOTH PLANE DAMAGED
MISS JEAN BATTEN’S MACHINE. SWING AGAINST CRANE. 'By lelegraph—Press Association.■> WELLINGTON, Sept. IS. As .a crane was swinging Miss Jean Batten’s iMoth plane aboard the Maunganui prior to heir sailing to Sydney to-day a northerly breeze caught the light craft and knocked it against the crane. It is* believed some ribs in the win® may be broken, and an inspection will have to be made at Sydney before the plane takes the air. A large crowd, including orominent aviation officials, farewelled Miss Batten and gave her cheers as the ship pulled out.
