“A WASTE OF MONEY”
MONETARY COMMISSION REPORT. “PUT IN WASTE PAPEIR BASKET.” (By Telegraph—Press Association.) WELLINGTON, Sept. 18. Only about a. minute's attention was given by the Wellington Chamber of Commerce to-night to the report of the Monetary Committee when it came up for discussion. “I move that it he put in the wastepaper basket,” said Mr Stronach Paterson. “1 oppose that. We paid Is 9d for it,” the president, Mr D. J McGowan said. Mr McGowan added that the cost of the inquiry was about £.5000. “It is the most scandalous waste of money in New Zealand for a long time,” Mr Paterson commented.
