WOMEN TEACHERS’ PAY
* —'fc REPORT ON PETITION NO ACTION IN THE HOUSE (By Telegraph —press Association.) WELLINGTON, Sept. IS. Mr W. A. Bodkin on behalf of the Education Committee presented in the House of Representatives to-day the report on the petition of the New Zealand Women Teachers' Association regarding women teachers of grade 2a schools and the reduction of salary by £3O. The report stated that-in view of the assurance of the Education Department that 2a teachers were now receiving the additional salary, reduced by cuts, and would receive it unless the school fell in grade and they declined to transfer to another school. The committee had no recommendation to make and the report "was tabled.
