STOCK AT LARGE
DAMAGE IN DIXON AVENUE
NEW BANGER TO TAKE ACTION
“The newly-appointed borough ranger has been instructed to exercise strict vigilance and put a stop to the practice which has grown lately of allowing stock to wander at large in the streets,’ said the -Mayor (Mr J. Ji'«. Campbell) at last, night’s meeting of the Hawera Borough Council. He mentioned that recently he bad seen cows patrolling the streets in various parts of the town and in Dixon Avenue the stock at large had interfered with the garden plots to the annoyance of the King Edward Park gardeners.
“Since the borough lias been without a ranger this state of affairs has become worse,’’ .said Mr Campbell, “and it is perhaps just-as well people should know that the new ranger has received definite instructions to take action against offenders.”
