CRICKET CLUB MEETING

There was a good attendance of members at the annual meeting of the Waverley cricket club held in the Waverley town board rooms, and plans for the ensuing year were discussed. It was decided to enter one team in the Wanganui junior competition and another in the Waverley district Sunday competition.

A vote of thanks to Mr J. Mills for his donation of a cricket bat was passed. Officers for the year were elected as follows: —Patron, Mr J. Mills; president, Mr E. C. Dallison; vice-presid-ents, Messrs J. L. Beer, S. Bromiley; secretary, Mr W. Dalrymple; club captain, Mr N. Bromiley; field captain, Mr W. Ileginbotham; vice-captain, Mr L. Stewart; committee, Messrs Hoskins, Bradley, N. Spratt, Haycock, D. Dallison; selection committee, Messrs Haycock, N. Bromiley, and Heginbotham.

ST. STEPHEN’S CHURCH. The Ttev. Gardiner presides and there was a good attendance of ladies on Friday afternoon when a meeting was held in St. Stephen’s schoolroom in connection with the forthcoming bazaar to bo held in the Waverley town hall. The following stallholders were appointed with power to add: Plain sewing, Mesdarnes Gardiner, Salter, Boyer, Heginbotham and Anderson ; produce, Mesdarnes Dickie, Newland, Spratt, Ell. Fowler; cakes, Mesdarnes Bromiley, Lupton .2), and Miss Ell; sweets stall, Misses Barrow, Graham (2) and helpers; refreshments, Mesdarnes Harvey, Wallace, Graham, F. R. Palmer, Wicks, McGonagle and Miss Matthews.
