PERSONAL AND GENERAL
Recently, members of the Whakamara hockey club paid a surprise visit to the president of the club, Mr L. E. Christie. During the evening, opportunity was taken by the captain, Air A. Davies, to present Mr Christie with a small token of the members’ esteem.
Mr Christie recently entertained the club to afternoon tea at the grounds. A further meeting of the boys’ and girls’ club was held this week to fur? ther arrangements for the fortheonuing flower show to be held by the shildren in the Whakamara hall on Friday, September 14. Small prizes are to be donated for the best flower' competitions.
The Misses Skeet, Cambridge, are the guests of Mrs H. R. Scott. Miss Salt is the guest of Mrs A. Wrigley. Miss Grace McCall, Ivohi, is visiting Mrs A. Langley. , , , . , Mrs McCall, has returned to Kohi after a visit to Mrs Langley. Airs Arbon is on an extended holiday.
