ELTHAM ACTIVITIES
PERSONAL. Mr G. A. Wilkinson, M.P. for Bgmont, left by mail train to-dav for Wellington. Sir Walter Oarnoross, M.L.C., who spent the week-end in Eltham, returned to Wellington to-day. Air R. Syme left,to-day for Wellington, where he w>ilT"spend a few days. Alias, V. Garnoross, who has been in Alount View Hospital, has recovered sufficiently to return to her home. Miss Jean McCarthy, of Hamilton, and Aliss Kath. Simpson, of Auckland, who have been the guests of Miss E. Leuthard, have motored back to their homes. Miss Leuthard accompanied them as far as Alount Messenger.
PLUNKETT SOCIETY. The mOnUiTy meeting of the Eltham Pluhket Society was held in the rooms yesterday afternoon. A resolution was passed at the meeting expressing; the society’s appreciation of Air Wilkinson’s kind assistance in respect to the society’s new building. RED CROSS SOCIETY. The monthly meeting of the Eltham Red Cross Sjpciety was held in the Borough Council Chambers last evening. Mr I. J. Bridger presided over a fan- attendance. Those present were : Mesdames F. Muggeridge, B. Goldsmith, G. Prentice, R. Allen, and the secretary, Airs Reakes. Mrs Goldsmith and Airs Reakes were appointed to confer with the nicture committee "in regard to a suitable. picture to he shown in aid of the societv. Dr. launders conducts first aid classes' of 12 members, the majority being second rear students. It was decided to hold a shop day in October. * AL- J. Campbell, president of the society presided over a good attendance of the committee.
