OPENING OF 193-1 SEASON. LARGE ATTENDANCE AT COURTS. The official opening of the Hawera Badminton Club’s 1934 season took place at the Winter Show Bitildings in Hawera last evening, when there was a. large attendance of .40 players and a number of visitors from New Plymouth. The president (Mi - . R. Syme) welcomed members and visitors, especially those from outside the Hawera district. and stressed the value of inter-! club matches. He referred to the rapid growth of the game in Taranaki and advised till the. clubs to join the Western Districts Badminton Association. Mrs. N.
