WINTER DISTRESS RELIEF
SUM OF £IOOO GRANTED.
LYTTELTON HARBOUR. BOARD.

CHRISTCHURCH, May 2. The Lyttelton Harbour Board decided to-day to give £IOOO for the relief of distress in the city and surrounding districts this- winter*. The grant, which is the same amount as that given by the board last year, will be divided into two sections of £SOO each. One will go to a fund being raised by the Canterbury Progress League and the other amount will be distributed in the districts in the board’s representation area as decided by a special committee of the board.
