Solomon: was first away from Princess Star, Snowball and Hybiscus, with, the rest bunched handy. There was little change going down the hack, and crossing the top the leading order was Princess Star, Solomon, Hybiscus, and Moneygran. The field closed up at the entrance to the straight, but Princess Star and Hybiscus, on terms, were just clear of Illuminate and Solomon. In a thrilling finish • Illuminate came through to beat Princess Star by a short neck, with Solomon a similar distance back third. Grumpy was a close fourth. A good start from the moving barrier was effected with Headmistress, Prince Reno, Gay Court and Silk Sox prominent. The same order was kept down the back, with St. Clara and Tres Sec handy. The field bunched at the straight entrance, with Headmistress actually first to turn. A great race home saw Tres Sec finish strongly to win by two lengths with heads between second and third. Lady Ronald was fourth, followed by Headmistress, St. Clara and Bugle Call. About 70 yards from the post Prince Bleno stumbled, throwing Jockey Tremaine and falling on him. Luckily the rider escaped with only a severe shaking.
