WOMEN’S INSTITUTE SOCIAL ('From Our Own Correspondent.) The euchre and dance social held last week by the members of the To Jtoti Women’s Institute in aid of hall funds was a success, both socially and financially. The winners of the euchre prizes were: Ladies, (Miss <M. 'Startup 1, Miss Taylor 2; men, Mr 11. Norris 1, Mr Me A soy 2. Music for the dance was supplied by Mrs Bennett. [Monte Carlo waltzes were won by (Miss J. Reid and Mr Simpson and by 'Miss Leone Hitchcock and iMr Warren. During the evening wreaths were placed on the honours board by the members of the Women’s Institute and during the afternoon by the schoolchildren and the teachers.
'HALL COMMITTEE The annual meeting of the hall committee was held on Friday evening, there being a fairly good attendance oi residents. The .balance-sheet submitted by the secretary, iMr Stokes, showed a satisfactory balance. The retiring committee did not seek re-election. The following were appointed for the forthcoming year: Mr E. Hurley (chairman), Mr Alexander (secretary), and 'Messrs Condon, Lee and Rudkin.
