Late on Saturday the liner Aorangi, bound from Sydney to Auckland, received a wireless message from the Faveli asking if she could go to her assistance and take off a man who was thought to be suffering from appendicitis. As the Monowai was much nearer the barque a message was sent explaining the position. At an earlyliofur yesterday .morning the Monowai, having been given the barque’s position, altered hen- course and the liner came alongside the Faveli at 7 o’clock and the sick man was transhipped in a boat, after which the ship headed on her course for Wellington.
