About 70 couples attended tbe, annual j cheesemakers’ bail in the Tawhiti Hail on ... ..raday evening and although I not nearly such a large number as 1 usually attend this annual event the | hall was comfortably filled with dancI el's. The decorations were carried out m t a scheme of green and goid streamers I with tree ferns relieving the bareness j of the walls. The floor was in its usual glassy state, naving been prepared by members of the factory istaff. No effort was spared with the committee, headed by Air R. Thomson (hon. secretary) to provide a splendid evening’® entertainment, Many novelty dances were held, including the popular log cabin Monte Carlo waltzes. Saloon and confetti dances. A waltzing competition and a fox trot competition were also held, the Ridge beipg Mr R. Church (Mokoia); the winners being: Waltzing Mr 'and Mrs McMillan (Mangatoki) ; fox trot, Air C. Archer and partner. A bountiful supper was .served under the supervision of a ladies committee Alesdames McGlade senr.. R. Thomson, A. Tidswell, J. Pennell and Misses R. McGlade and May Ogie, assisted by the factory staff and other helpers. Excellent dance music was provided by Wills’ Alelodymakers Orchestra, and extras were .played by the Taiporohenui String Orchestra. Messrs ,1. Pen. neil and R. Thomson acted as .Masters of Ceremonies. Among the ladies present were Mesclames McGlade senr (black floral frock) R. Thomson (black silk velvet, black coatee), A.
