In a wrestling contest at the Newtown Stadium George Penicheff was nearly accidentally strangled during a severe full-Nelson. Walter Browning was exercising a steady pressure on liis opponent’s throat and the latter was unable to indicate he wanted tp submit. The timely intervention of the ringside doctor saved Pencheff, who remained' inert- for several minutes on the canvas.
The contest, however, was resumed. Both wrestlers tied themselves in a knot with a hold and' ■eoUnfcer-bold!, the referee having to assist to untie them, declaring the contest a draw, one fall each.
