TEN-A-SIDE RUGBY
ANNUAL TOURNEY AT MANAIA FOURTEEN TEAMS ENGAGED Final arrangements have been completed for the 10-a-side Rugby tournament to> be held at the Manaia Domain to-morrow (Saturday) afternoon, commencing at 12.30 o’clock, when 34 teams, including Okaiawa. A and B, Opunoko A and B, Kaponga A and B, Stratford Ai and B, Waflinate A and R, Paten A; and, B, Empire Old Boys (Hawera) and Hawera- will participate. This number of teams represents an increase of four on last year’s total when the tournament was won by Stratford, which defeated Inglewood B—o in the final. The draw for to-morrow will be made on the ground. Besides the trophies and miniature cup-? to he won, the winners and run-ners-up will be entertained by the Manaia. Hibernian and District Sports CJJrlb and the Waiimate Football Club, promoters of the tonrnaiment, at a complimentary dinner in the evening. Ample seating accommodation will he available oil the grounds for the public. The teams to represent the Waimate Club have been selected as follow: A. team, Gargan, Gulliver, Boiirke, Burke, Baldwin. Paterson, Whalen (2), (McDonald, Hill, Hi k aka,; B teajm,_ Sutton, Katene, Rei, Hansen, Borrie. Hughes, Dick, Bennett, Walker, Ingram, McKay. .
The Hawera team will be: Hunter (2). Hammond, McDonald, Lendrnm, Holloway. Euchialrt, Clement, Bishop, Raugiwahia. Brown. Team will leave P. 6, at 12.30. The Kaponga B team to may will he as follows- Rothery, T. Williams. D. Murphy, West, T. O’Sullivan, Hodges, Eynon, Davies, R. Noonan. Jenkins; emergencies, Bradford, Divehall. Y oullaire, D. Benton and R. Noonan.
