HAWERA BRANCH ACTIVITY. FUNDS FOR UNEMPLOYED RELIEF A “bring and buy” afternoon was held at the Hawera branch rooms of the New Zealand Red Cross Society on Saturday and the sum of £3 10s was realised to help the funds of fhe Hawera relief carnival, this sum to bo credited to the three amusement stalls to be conducted by the Hawera. members of the society at the forthcoming mystery bazaar. During the afternoon Mrs. A. K. Fy son’s orchestra. was in attendance and a programme of music was contributed. On Tuesday evening of last week the members of the Voluntary Aid Detachment held a social for a- similar purpose and the sum of XT 4s was raised.
