CALCUTTA, March 9. Threats to murder English, women were contained in letters received at a Calcutta newspaper office from the •'‘Bengal Revolutionary Party',” declaring that it the Legislative Council passes a Bill at present under consideration providing.for more stringent laws to curb terrorism, one of the clauses of. which is the death penalty for carrying arms with intent to murder, the 'terrorist party' will, cease attempts to murder Government officials’ and attack clubs and restaurants frequented by Europeans, singling out women. The letters add: “This is no idle threat, and if Europeans wish it a keep their womenfolk alive they must usle their influence to ensure the rejection of the Bill.” As a result of the threats armed guards are being placed on places of amusement and an increasingly strict watch is to bei kept ion the known haulnts of terrorists.
