FURTHER REMAND MADE
HAWERA, GAMING; CHARGES
ALLEGATION OF BOOKMAKING
On the application of Sergeant Henry, four persons arrested following the police raid on premises in Union Street, Hawera, on Saturday last were again remanded until Wednesday, when they appeared before Mr R. S. Sage, J.P., "in the Hawera Magistrate’s Court to-day. , The accused were William- Elder, charged with carrying on the business of. a bookmaker and with conducting a common gaming house, and Frank Champion, John Joyce and Albert Edward Hovi.nd. charged with being found on the premises of a common gaming-house. ; Rail was renewed as' previously fixed.
