CALGARY (Alberta), Dec. 1. “A world battle of t'he survival of the fittest jn wheat growing would be ruinous to Canadian farmers,” said Mr I. MoHarland, general manager of Co-operative Wheat Producers Ltd., the cereal selling agency of the prairie pools, on Friday when addressing members of the Alberta wheat pool. He said that such a contest would be between wlieatgrowers in exporting countries and wlieatgrowers in Europe, with the cards stacked against the exporters through iso many trade barriers. He urged the prairie Governments' to assist farmers to put back the ploughed lands to grass and stressed the necessity for an acreage reduction by co-operative agreements with other countries.
