AUSTRALIAN RIVERS RISE

SYDNEY, Sept. 30. Heavy rains which have fallen over the northern and central coast districts in the last two days have caused rivers to rise and local floodings have occurred.
Many rivers are also rising in the Central and south-western districts of Queensland and heavy losses of sheep are reported, one station losing 700. I tail way services on some sections were interrupted and a. railway bridge over the BuJloo River is covered and the water is rising at the rate of two inches an hour. Coastal shipping encountered high seas on the north coast of New South Wales and five coasters sheltered yesterday.
