RECIPROCITY IN TRADE
ORGANISATION CRITICISED. CANTEEBUR-Y OPLNIONS: (By Telegraph —Press Association.) CHRISTCHURCH, Sept. 28. The organisation known as the New Zealand Producers and United Kingdom Manufacturers’ Reciprocal Trade Federation was roundly condemned at a meeting of the executive committee of the Canterbury Manufacturers’ Association to-day. The New Zealand Manufacturers' Federation enclosed a circular expressing the aims and views of the organisation and asked for an opinnion on them. After the circular had been read it was decided that a reply be sent that in the opinion of the Canterbury executive the circular was contemptible. The circular stated that the federation would counter the activities of the New Zealand -Manufacturers’ Federation (organised secondary industries), which had been largely responsible for the increase in tariffs of recent years and the consequent development of uneconomic secondary industries
