DISQUALIFIED FOR PUNCHING
WRESTLER AT GISBORNE,
VARGA LOSES TO OSWALD,
(By Telegraph —Press Association.) GISBORNE, Sept. 29. "Wrestling before a moderate attendance, Oswald defeated Varga to-night in the sixth round. A series of headlocks followed by body scissors- and a press, gave Varga the first fall. With the living scissors Oswald evened in the fifth round. Repeated punching by Varga resulted in his disqualification in the sixth round.
HASTINGS BOUT DRAWN RUMBER-G AND ALAMOS. HASTINGS, Sept. 29. An eight-round professional wrestling contest at Hastings to-night between Rumberg and Mamas resulted in . a draw, the bout going the full distance. The pair indulged in good hard wrestling with little evidence of showmanship. • Mamos. however, being at a big disadvantage on account of a stone and a-half difference in weight. Rumberg depended to a large extend upon deadlocks.
