After a Republican meeting in Q’Connell Street, Dublin, a crowd of several thousands attacked the premises of an English brewer nearby, hurling stones at the windows. The arrival of police reinforcements resulted in a pitched battle, the police with drawn batons repeatedly charging the crowd. People leaving theatresi and cinemas rushed into shops. When the street was cleared fifteen young men were found lying injured and were sent to hospital.
