COWES REGATTA POSTPONED
HIGH WINDS AND SEAS. COASTAL SHIPPING DELAYED. (British OSicisJ Wireless.) RUGBY. July 31. High winds and heavy seas on the English coast caused some interfer- , ence with shipping services to-day. A pinnace from the royal yacht Victoria and Albert, which is the headquarters of their Majesties during their stay at Cowes, went to the assistance of a paddle steamer that was carried, by the gale and strong tides until it fouled some yachts m the roads. When nearing the King’s yacht Britannia the steamer dropped anchor and was later towed clear. Owino- to the gale the regatta of tiie Royal Yacht Club was postponed for the first time in its history.
