Behind screaming police sirens and under a generous dousing of confetti and ticker tape Mr and Mrs J. A. Mollison rode a hero’s route t-o the City Hall to-day for an official reception. The police estimated that 200,000 lined Broadway from the Battery to the City Hall shouting. “Cheerio, Amy. Attaboy!” Mr Mollison wore bandages on his forehead. Gold medals were presented to each by the Mayor, Mr John O’Brien.
