Plum, lilac and violet are the dominating colours at the new season s dress shows, which feature a whole range of clothes, says the Paris correspondent of the ‘ 'News-Chronicle, ’ ’ Others include “bottle shoulders, ’ corset steels giving a pull-back effect, pinch ed-in waists, folded draperies, back skirt fullness and basques. The trimmings include soft, ragged' fringes, small fussy bottons, pipings, padded coo-dings, and even cameo breastpins. Soft cashmere woollens, more brocades, velvets and stiff 6atins are fashionable materials. Hats also are changed out of all recognition.
