Mr H. L. Griffin, of United Grain Growers’ Ltd., 'Winnipeg, addressing tiie delegates to the world grain confereinoe, said Canada's huge wheat carryover was part of the reserve essential to the world markets. The time had come to forget the causes and cost of this carryover and to recognise it for what it- had become. He said the wool market could and did tolerate substantial reserves and would bo highly intolerant of any other condition. Hunger and the fear of hunger were too recent experiences of the greater part of mankind and were too widely spread, even at the present day, to make tlie world anything but uneasy. If there were not a reserve supply of food sufficient for many mouths.
