LIGHTNING CAUSES PANIC
SLOVAKIAN CHURCH TRAGEDY. PEOPLE BURNED AND TRAMPLED (United Press Associativa —By Electric Telegraph Copyright.) PRAGUE, Aug. 1. Terrible panic occurred when a village church at Zubrohlava, Slovakia, was struck by lightning while the congregation was sheltering from a thunderstorm after Mass. Several charred bodies were found with the hands clinging to the altar rails, and two mo it with the hands clutching the rails at the side of the altar. These were the only victims of the ■ightning but there was a numbe. A other casualties during the panic, attributed to the savagery’ of the men. Eighteen women and children and not a single man were found trampled, eight of . whom died. The remainder are .seriously injured.
