In peace time he also displayed great gallantry by rescue work in the Welsh pit disasters.
The death of Mr. Edwin Murray Fuller, a Avell-knoAyn Wellington artist, occurred at Melbourne on Saturday evening, states a Press Assoiation message received from Wellington today. The late Mr. Fuller proceeded to Melbourne , some months ago to hold an exhibition of British pictures there. Ho suddenly was taken ill and had to undergo an operation. He recovered from the operation, but suffered a num<ber of relapses which ended fatally. The death of Mr William EdAVard Bidwill, 0.8. E., Avell-knoAvn sheep and cattle breeder and racing man of RototaAvai, Featherstori, aged 75, is reported by the Press Association. .Mr Bidwill was president of the Wai'rarapa Racing Club for 21 years; chairman of stewards of the South Wairarapa Racing Club for 40 years; past president of the Wairarapa and East Coast -P. and A. Association; a member of the Featherston Road Board for 20 years; chairman of the Kaliutara School Committee and a member for 22 .years; chief promoter and chairman of the Anzac, Hall Committee, Featherston; president of the Wairarapa Golf Club, Avhose links are on Rototawai. He represented Christ’s College in first eleven cricket, and first fifteen football teams.
