TEMPERANCE UNION
HAWERA BRANCH MEETING. The monthly meeting of the Ilawera branch of the Women’s Christian Temperance Union was held in the (Methodist Bible Class room on Tuesday. Nine members were present and several apologies were received. Mrs Exlev, who has consented to :be president of the union again, was in the chair. Correspondence was read, relating mostly to the conference to he held in Waitara on February 15 and 16. Mcsdames .Spavin and 'Sharpe were appointed delegates to the conference. It was decided to celebrate Francis Willard Day on Friday, February 17. Particulars are to be advertised later. Afternoon tea was served at the close of the meeting.
