QUEST OF SVDNEV FIRM EXPLORATION OF N.Z. COAST TALK OF COMPANY TRANSFER. HOPEI FOB FURTHER RESEARCH. (United Press Association —By Electric Telegraph Copyright.) v Received 0.15 a.m., to-day. SYDNFiX, Feb. 1. Mr. Charles Cam, founder of tho* trawling firm of Cam and Sons, states that two ships made exploratory trips to Bass Straits, but the experiment proved costly and disappointing. '1 he second trip recently made across., the Tasman and lasting for 20 days was more promising, but the long voyage involved so much expense that lie thought of transferring the company headquarters t-o New Zealand. Captain Hales, chairman of the Trawler Owners’ Association, said lie regretted the Federal Government had not done more toward investigating -.fishing grounds, but lie hoped with the ‘improved times that a research ship would be employed. He felt sure that if this was done new trawling grounds would be discovered much closer to Sydney than those off the New Zealand coast.
