RIFLE SHOOTING. WINCHESTER, TROPHY. Under ideal weather conditions the last but one of the shoots for the Winchester trophy was fired on the Patea range by members of the Patea Rifle Club. This is: the third shoot- for the trophy and was over 500 yards. Stores were high, the best being those by N. Coad and R. Willis, each with 48. Following are the results, with handicaps :
With only 10 -shots at 600 'yards to be fired, the leading aggregates are as follows: C. Garev 151 L N. Coad 145, L. Davidson 1431, G. Taylor 143, R! Willis 142, P. Palmer 14lf, B. Walton 141 f. PERSONAL.
Miss Iris Sven-son, the dental clinic nurse, has returned to Patea. from Wanganui and has commenced her duties. Mrs and Miss D. Horrell have returned to Riangiora, after spending some weeks with Miss A. -Horrell, P.lunket nurse. Mr and Mrs W. Paterson and their family have returned from a holiday at New Plymouth. Miss Cynthia Simmons lias -returned home after spending the -holidays with her aunt. Mrs Todd. Maikirikiri. Mr and Mrs W. H. Hemingway, of San Francisco, and Mr W. H. "(lemingway, juni\, of Sydney, who have been the -guests of Mrs E. F. Hemingway during last week, have returned to Auckland.
Mrs Honeyfield, who has been .spending the Christmas holidays in New Plymouth, has returend to her home, “Elgmont View.” Mr W. Rargrovc, formerly of Bay of Plenty, has arrived in Patea to take over duties as manager of the Bank of New Zealand, filling the vacancy caused by Mr Thompson's transfer to Otomhanca. Mrs Bargrove and her family will arrive in Patea next Saturday.
