SUSPICIOUS SOVIET SHIPS
ENTRY AT PROHIBITED PORT CONFISCATION SUGGESTED. (United Press Association—By Electric Telegraph Copyright' TOKIO, Jnn. 30. The police urge confiscation of the four Soviet whaling ships which entered a prohibited port at the Bonin Islands. The evidence of the ships’ log books does not support the excuses advanced but the authorities seem reluitant to incur the odium of being accused of retaliation. There have been many illegal seizures of Japanese vessels in Kamchatka waters.
Besides the crews of the whalers, stated an earlier message, there were several suspicious persons aboard. They were to,bo examined by the*nietropolitan police.
