NAPIER CARNIVAL ENDS
SATURDAY NIGHT ASSEMBLY (By Telegraph—Press Association.) NAPIER, Jan. 30. Final scenes of gaiety marked l the closing of the carnival on Saturday 7 evening, when a crowd estimated to number in the vicinity of 25,000 people thronged the streets. A masked parade including over 2000 people was headed by three bands-. The weather was fine and at midnight “Auld Lang Syne,” -sung by thousands, provided the finale to a week of jollity.
