The New Zealand intermediate and junior swimming championship meeting was brought to a conclusion on Saturday evening before a record attendance. Auckland turned out to be the winners of the AVar Memorial Shield. The points were: Auckland 7, Otago 6, Manawatu 1. Crump (Auckland) broke bis own record in the 220 yards intermediate boys free style, lowering it- from 2min 34sec to 2min 28 sec. At a supper held afterwards .all trophies and medals were presented to the winners. This was the first occasion on which tins had been done and the northern officials paid a tribute to the Southland centre on the initiative and foresight which made it possible. Results are: ...
