TENNIS IN HAWERA
WELLINGTON TEAM’S VISIT BRILLIANjT ALL-RiOUND PLAYERS Taranaki tennis enthusiasts will have an opportunity of witnessing; brilliant all-round players in action at Hawera, next month, when a Wellington team will visit Hawera to play Taranaki and also give exhibition matches. The date of the visit has not been definitely fixed, hut the visit will probably be made on February 25. 1 Members of the team will he C. Malf.roy D. France, N. Wilson, N. Bedford (New Zealand boy and junior champion) and D l . McCarthy (winner of the Hawera Club’s champion singles, this year). A. Wallace, an ex-Taranaki champion, is* also likely to* be present. The team manager will be Mr A. Foden. The visit will he under the auspices of the Taranaki and New Zealand Lawn Tennis Associations and the. exhibition frames have been arranged in view of the difficulty m securing coaching lor provincial players. A 1 of the visiting p 1 rivers ? style, it is 0011310.01011, should provide valuable lessons. entertainment of the visitors is being arranged by the Hawera> Olub.
