CORNWELL CUP CONTEST
VICTORY TO AUCKLAND BOAT. NARROW WIN IN LAST RACE. (By Telegraph—Tress Association.) CHRIST CHUR CH, Jan. 27. Auckland, with one leg in, won the Cornwell Cup for yachting by winning both races sailed to-day. Conditions v ei'G excellent, there being a light to fresh nor’-easter and very little sea. The Auckland boat sailed an excellent race in the morning and finished three minutes ahead of Lyttelton, with Ptrbua third and Plimmerton fourth. The Christchurch boat led for most
of '.lie way in the final race, but was weathered by the Auckland contender lounding the final buoy. On the short tear, for the finishing line the Auckland boat maintained the advantage and won by 20 seconds from Christcnuich, with Lyttelton third and Plimmetton fourth.
